Chicago House earns Reaccreditation from the Council on Accreditation

April 22, 2022

CHICAGO, IL - The Council on Accreditation (COA) reaffirms Chicago House and Social Service Agency’s as a leading housing and social service organization in Chicago. To achieve voluntary accreditation from COA, Chicago House must demonstrate compliance and excellence with administrative and program delivery that meet specific standards as a social service agency and undergo a site visit every four years.

Initially accredited by COA in 2018, Chicago House provides high-quality, client-centered support service to individuals and families impacted by HIV primarily through housing, health, employment services, and the TransLife Care Program.

“I’m thrilled COA has reaccredited Chicago House as a leading housing provider in Chicago,” said CEO Michael Herman. “The renewal of accreditation shows the level of expertise our team and agency has and allows us to offer the highest level of service to our clients.”

Over the course of 18 months, Chicago House successfully participated in and navigated the many steps—from initial assessment and self study to the site visit—and agency was expedited through the Pre-Commission Review Report (PCR) process as a result of not receiving any out of compliance ratings in any of the fundamental practice standards.
