Guide to Giving

We are able to provide housing, HIV/STI screening, and linkage to care and employment services to an increasing number of people at-risk and living with HIV/AIDS because of philanthropic support and investment from community members, civic and business leaders, and advocates of our cause. You can invest in Chicago House by giving today, joining our planned giving program, attending an event, or joining the Leadership Circle.

Direct Gifts

Gifts by cash, check, or credit card make an immediate impact on the clients and services of Chicago House. To send a check or money order, please indicate how you’d like your gift to be used and send your contribution to:

Matching Gifts

Many employers sponsor matching gift programs that match individual charitable giving and allow you to double, or sometimes triple, your gift to Chicago House. Check with your HR office for a matching gift form. If you have any questions, contact us.

Planned Giving

Gift commitments made today will leave a lasting impact on Chicago House and these communities. If your estate plans include Chicago House, please let us know. We want to thank you and honor you as a member of our distinguished 1985 Legacy Society.

Chicago House welcomes planned gifts in the form of bequests, life insurance, life estates, charitable remainder trusts, an IRA, 401(k), or 403(b) plan. Making a bequest or any other type of planned gift may generate tax benefits to the donor and provide long-term support for Chicago House.

A bequest is an easy but important way for you to ensure that your assets are distributed the way you wish.  You can designate Chicago House as the recipient of a cash gift, a percentage, or residual remainder of your estate or living trust. You can also designate how your bequest will be used by restricting the funds to support a particular program. Please contact our team to make special arrangements for these types of gifts.

Monthly Giving

Monthly, recurring giving is a simple and streamlined way to support Chicago House, and donors build a strong and sustainable base of support for Chicago House.

Gifts of Stock

Gifts of stocks and bonds can be one of the most advantageous ways of giving. When you contribute appreciated securities to Chicago House, you can:

  • Bypass capital gains taxes (especially valuable for stock you have held more than a year),

  • Claim the full value of the gift as a charitable deduction,

  • Make a larger gift than if you first sold the securities and then donated the net proceeds, and

  • Support the vital, comprehensive services we provide to people living with HIV/AIDS.

Securities may be donated electronically by providing the following information to your financial institution.
